Fraport Airport Services Worldwide
Developed, owned and managed by Fraport AG, the Frankfurt Airport (FRA) serves as one of the key hub airports in the global aviation system. FRA covers 1,900-hectares and comprises three runways, two passenger terminals, two major cargo centers, and the U.S. Rhein-Main Air Base, which will be closed after 2005 and returned to civilian use. In 2002, Frankfurt Airport welcomed about 48.5 million passengers and handled over 1.5 million metric tons of airfreight – making it Europe’s second busiest passenger airport and number one cargo gateway. Internationally, FRA ranks number seven for both passenger and cargo traffic (Airports Council International statistics).
Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide is a leading player in the global airport industry. Following its initial public offering (IPO) in June 2001, Fraport AG has become the world’s second largest listed airport company by revenues.
